Aikido is a Japanese martial art created by O’Sensei Morihei Uesiba (1883 – 1969) at the beginning of the last century to create a fight that does not have a winner or a loser focused on cooperation rather than aggression; for control. The word Aikido is made up of three Japanese characters: Ai – “harmony, love”, Ki – “power, energy” and Do – “path”. Aikido Club, registered at Aikido Headquarters – Hombu Dojo. White belt
There are 6 apprentices levels ( from 6 to 1). Apprentice Levels in children groups are awarded starting from 12. Next apprentice level is awarded for regular training classes attendance. Aikidoka must attend training classes for 4 to 12 months, depending on which apprentice level akidoka is applying for.
To pass an exam requires to demonstrate good level of techniques and ability to control own condition.
Black belt
One year after qualification for the highest apprentice level 1 Akidoka is eligible foster an exam on 1 Dan level. There are 8 Dan in akido. Presently Dan 9 and 10 in akido are not awarded.
